The TVTV Web series continues to gather steam as they launch their third season and the producers and fleece animators of TVTV continue to expand their audience base. Using the Web and guerilla marketing tactics, TVTV has been reaching out to audiences via Facebook, iTunes, and Twitter while creating an army of “zombie minions” for their cult hit.

Decent coverage of TVTV (and it’s economic plight!) in the St. Paul Pioneer Press today, perfectly timed with the DVD release party tomorrow at The Source Comics and Games, 1601 Larpenteur Avenue in Falcon Heights, MN. If you’re a new visitor to the site, you can see all of the clips of the show at our Episodes page. And though the puppets look a little like some other puppets currently owned by a major corporate entity and targeted directly at the heart minds and pocketbooks of young children, the Fleece Americans you see before you skew a little more adult. Okay, a lot. Some of the front runners for best episode of 2009 are:

We’ll be announcing the winner of the Fan Favorite Episode of Season Two at the party. Like what you see and feel like helping out the producers of the show? Start by meeting us at the Source tomorrow for our release party! Or contact us via email and let us know about yourself.

Extreme Makeover

Gordon worked on the Extreme Makeover Home Edition episode that aired January 3rd, starring the Muppets! Did he operate a Muppet, no, but he did construct Gonzo’s cannon, and got to meet many of the crew, including performer Steve Whitmire, who he subsequently did puppet training with (see the episode of the Backstage Pass that chronicles Gordon’s adventures). Backstage Pass: Gordon Went Down to Georgia

Filed under: Behind The Scenes, Season Three, Uncategorized — admin @ 11:48 am

tvtv_new_pdSeason Three begins with a Backstage Pass entry, “The Gordon Went Down to Georgia.” In part one of three, Producer Gordon Smuder heads to Atlanta to take part in Steve Whitmire’s Puppetry Workshop at the Center for Puppetry Arts, and has assorted travel adventures along the way.

We’ll be tracking production in the Backstage Pass/Production Diaries entries this year, giving our audience a peek into how the show is created. We feel that the process of putting together something like this is just as fascinating as the results, and hopefully you share our interest in creating oddball, fleece-originated web entertainment.
